Child Support CalculatorChild support is figured according to a statutory formula that takes into account both parents’ income, the number of children and many other factors. This online calculator can help estimate the amount of child support a parent may have to pay in a divorce, but remember that this is an estimate only, and the actual result may be higher or lower.

Child Support Enforcement Administration – If you are having trouble getting your ex to meet the monthly child support obligation, the CSEA can help. For instance, they may be able to help locate a parent or initiate a wage garnishment from the ex-spouse’s paycheck to cover the support amount. Your own divorce lawyer can also help you get paid through various legal means.

Child Protective Services – CPS may act to remove a child from the home when abuse or neglect is suspected. As a parent, you have rights during this process, including the right to legal representation. If you are a grandparent or other interested family member, you may be able to obtain temporary care and custody of the children while the process is pending.

National Family Resilience Center – This organization provides parenting seminars and other services to help children and parents during divorce or separation to ease the transition while maintaining health, long-term family relationships.
